I haven’t been a very active blogger lately, for various reasons, so I thought I’d show off the revamped version of the “Kid” logo for my next redesign.
I’m not that wise in the ways of the Pen Tool (PSP), and it took me a few hours getting it right, learning a few things along the way too (which is a bonus), mostly using the Bezier Curves tool.
Kid originally started out as a comic character I created a few years ago, called “The Mundane and Amazing Adventures of Kid”

Oh wow, that’s awesome! I’ve been meaning to look up some tutorials on the pen tool. I never use it, but I’ve seen amazing things done with it. I keep thinking that there’s so much more I could do with PSP, I bet I don’t use even half the tools. Did you use a tutorial or figure things out just by experimenting?

Thanks, Ellie.
I remember the first time I opened up Paint Shop Pro. Everything was a complete mystery to me. Nothing seemed to worked. I was clueless about layers, gradients, and all the other stuff that is now really simple. But the Pen Tool, for the most part is still a mystery to me, and its really frustrating when you try to do something simple and it doesn’t let you.
I figured most of it out myself, but I’m sure I did some stuff the hard way. Really, I want to spend time learning how to use the pen tool properly, but it’s on a very big list of things to do

Well, you did a very awesome job! I totally understand the frustration and I can remember having the same feeling when I first started using PSP. I was L-O-S-T! lol I’m sure you will conquer the pen tool just as you have conquered almost every other part of that program! And when you do I would love it if you would write a tutorial so that I don’t have to spend half my life trying to figure it out for myself.
