Sheepdip Wordpress Theme

Sheepdip is a free Standards Compliant (xhtml.strict) Widget Compatible Wordpress Theme, immaculately coded for your downloading pleasure. It consists of two main templates for the index and single page (see previews below), with a fixed width of 760px.

I’ve kept the CSS down to a bare minimum, using only a small number of id and class names, without sacrificing the design. The template uses 10 compressed .jpg images, including images (rather than styling) for the dotted borders, that would otherwise appear dashed in Internet Explorer 6. I have also included images for the submit buttons, which need to be added directly to the xhtml template.

I’ve spent a few hours testing the design for bugs, and I think I’ve managed to sort them all out, but if you find any let me know. I have also tested this template in Internet Explorer 6, IE7, Firefox and Opera. The download has also been tested and the installation worked fine.

    Wow, I love this! It’s nice and clean looking, very easy on the eyes. (And I agree with Shanny, the little sheep is adorable. hehe) :D

    Thanks :D I’m happy you both like it. It was originally a temp I made for myself a few months ago, all I needed to do was fix a few things up, and create a new logo in order to make it a premade. The sheep took about 5mins to make, so I’m pleased at the way it turned out :)

    Hi,

    Love your theme, but I’d like to create numbered lists, and I can’t seem to do it. I think it has something to do with the list item styles in stylesheet.css. Do you have any recommendations for workarounds? I’d like the ordered lists to be numbered, but I don’t want numbers appearing next to the OL items in the sidebar.

    Thanks,

    Joe

    Hi, Joe. All the lists in the side bar for this temp are already ordered (numbered) lists.

    Hi Matt! :) Hope you guys are doing well!

    I’d like to use this template for one of my blogs. Does my new logo need to be the same size as the original or would changing the size mess it up?

    Hi, Ellie, it’s good to see you :D Yeah, we are doing really well at the moment :)

    The logo shouldn’t mess things up as it is set as a background image, rather than using img tags.

    You will find the image here…

    #head {width:760px; background-image: url(images/ban.jpg);
    background-repeat: no-repeat; padding: 1.5em 0 0.2em;
    margin: 0.4em 0 0 0; height:500px;}

    and if you need more height just add height:300px; or whatever you need :)

    Hope that helps, and thanks for using the temp. Hope you, Kit and the boys are doing ok:)

    A problem with the pages had been discovered, but It’s been fixed. Simply include this file with the other template files, and name it ‘page.php’

    The download has been updated :) plus the blogroll has been fixed for versions 2.2 and above

    Thanks Trevor for the heads up ;)

    Another change for ya Mahud.

    In the header: Strict//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd”>

    I changed it to: Transitional//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd”>

    That way the blogroll, with target = _blank will be XHTML complaint now.

    Trevor, one thing I noticed is that you took out the copyright info to the sheepdip template. I’m sure Mahud would appreciate you putting it back in. Thanks. :) [from his sweetie….looking out for his back ;) ]

    I am still tweaking, Shanny, it was meant to go back. I am actually about to change hosting, the one I’m on now (free by the way) disabled SMTP, so no email confirmations are sent. A real pain.

    I will add it Mahud’s info, don’t worry. I have been hacking it up a bit, very simple design to work with!

    Finally got the good hosting up and running.

    Shanny, added mahud’s link on the footer. I have alterated the theme a bit, once again, DAMN good theme.

    Thanks, Trevor. I’m glad you like the theme :D And it can be modified as much as you want ;)

    I’m no expert, but I’m not sure if the change to the doctype is truly valid, as it can’t be both strict and transitional. But the validator doesn’t seem to mind, so I’ll leave it up to whoever uses the temp to make the change if they want to use the target attribute :)

    Sexy, but TurdPress doesn’t let you use themes like that anymore. I would use it but… yeah.

    Hi Mahud Thanks loads for your tenplate, its exactly what ive been searching for. I am trying to modify it to make a static content site from it. I have virtually no experience with scripting so im struggling and was wondering whether you would mind helping me out a little? I am trying to remove all the hyperlinks and have successfully managed to remove most, but am struggling with removing the following - - search bar - Just another WordPress weblog - skip to content and home links

    Would you mind pointing me in the right direction? Also, I want a really simple page and just want five links to five other pages with basic info on it. I am trying to create new pages in the wordpress dashboard but its not giving me any new pages. Have you got any ideas why this might be? Sorry if I have bombarded you with loads of questions. Thanks for any help!
