…and paste as new layer (Ctrl+L) on top of the background and position it to the right, using the Move Tool in the Tool Bar Palette.

Right click on squirrel layer in the layers palette and select Duplicate.
Go to Effects > Distortion effects > Wind. Set the direction as From Right and the Strengh to 100.
Select the Eraser Tool, in the Tool Bar Palette, with these settings > size: 50; Opacity: 25, and with the squirrel layer highlighted in the Layers Palette, click over the squirrel five or six times to reduce the blurryness, so it looks like this:

Go to Layers > Merge > Merge all (flatten) layers.
Next, go to Adjust > Colour Balance > Colour Balance, and set the Colour Levels to 26, -17, -38.
In the Tool Bar Palette select the Text Tool, and choose the SerpentineDBol font, and make these settings:
In the Materials Palette set these colours:

Go to Effects > Distortion Effects > Wind, and set the direction From Right and the Strength to 100.
Select the Eraser Tool and (again with these settings > size: 50; Opacity: 25) Left Click over the Text five or six times to reduce the blurryness (like with the squirrel layer above), so it looks like this:

Merge all layers (flatten), and Duplicate.
Go to Effects > Texture Effects > Blinds, and make these settings:
Select the Eraser Tool, and using the same settings, edit out some of the horizontal lines from the image.

Merge Down, and Duplicate.
Go to Effects > Artistic Effects > Topography, and make these settings:
In the layers palette, reduce the Opacity to 40.
Select the Eraser Tool, using the same settings, and edit out some of the Topography Effect from the image, to smooth it out a bit.

Merge Down, and Duplicate.
Go to Effects > Distortion effects > Warp, and make these settings:
Then, erase over the Squirrel’s head.

Merge Down, and Duplicate.
Go to Effects > Geometric Effects > Skew, and make these settings:
Select the Freehand Selection Tool from the Tool Bar Palette, and make these settings:
Make your selection around the squirrel, and Cut (Ctrl+X).

Press Ctrl+D to deselect.
Merge down, and Duplicate.
Go to Effects > 3D effects > Buttonise, and make these settings:
Select the Selection Tool, with the following settings…
…and Cut (Ctrl+X) the bottom half of the Buttonised layer.

Press Ctrl+D to deselect.
Merge Down, and Duplicate.
Go to Adjust > Brightness and Contrast > Brightness and Contrast, and make these settings:
And reduce the Opacity of the layer to about 40.
Merge down.
And that’s it.

The squirrel photo comes from Stock.xchang.

I’m not sure what’s going wrong there. I’ve not experienced that problem, as far as I know. I wish I could help.
If I work out what’s wrong I’ll let you know.

I am doing an image in PSP9 using the distortion effect. All my effects work, except for the pixelate one. If I put my settings in and OK, nothing happens to my image.
